Water treatment flocculants are currently the most widely used chemical agents in water treatment. In water purification plants that use surface water as urban drinking water or industrial water sources, as well as various industrial wastewater and urban sewage purification treatment, oilfield groundwater reinjection, sludge disposal and other treatment processes, flocculation treatment is often considered an essential prerequisite key technology.


Polyaluminum chloride has many advantages as a water treatment agent. Firstly, there is a performance advantage. Due to its outstanding advantages and wide application range, compared with traditional flocculants, it can reduce costs by 1/3-1/2 and save more than 40%. It has become a recognized excellent water purifier both domestically and internationally. In addition, it can also be used for drinking water purification and special water quality treatment of water supply, such as removing iron, cadmium, fluorine, radioactive pollutants, floating oil, etc.

When using water treatment flocculants as coagulants to treat water, they have the following advantages:


(1) Good coagulation effects can be achieved for heavily polluted raw water or raw water with low turbidity, high turbidity, and high chromaticity.


(2) When the water temperature is low, it can still maintain a stable coagulation effect, which is more suitable for northern regions.


(3) The results show that alum forms flowers quickly, has a large and heavy particle size, good precipitation performance, and the dosage is generally lower than aluminum sulfate.


(4) The suitable pH range is wide, between 5 and 9. When the amount of aluminum sulfate is too large, it will not cause the reversal effect of water turbidity such as aluminum sulfate.


(5) Its alkalinity is higher than other aluminum and iron salts, and the corrosive effect of the medicine on the equipment is relatively small. The pH value and alkalinity of the treated water do not decrease significantly.


Performance of flocculants for water treatment:


a. Polyaluminum chloride, as a water treatment agent, has strong adaptability to various water qualities, especially high turbidity water.


b. The purified water quality is better than inorganic coagulants such as aluminum sulfate, and the cost of water purification can be reduced by 15-30%. The floc forms quickly and settles quickly.


c. High alumina content and small dosage can reduce water costs.


d. The pH value of the source water is 5.0-9.0.


e. It has advantages such as low corrosiveness, good operating conditions, and good solubility compared to aluminum sulfate.


f. The treated water has a lower salt content, which is beneficial for ion exchange treatment and pure water preparation.


g. Its adaptability to the temperature of the source water is better than inorganic coagulants such as aluminum sulfate, and the low-temperature water treatment effect is also better. The precipitation temperature is -18 ℃.
